There are so many exciting developments going on at Peterlee Glass this year. Our multi-million-pound relocation to Peterlee’s North West Industrial Estate is currently under way and we’re about to celebrate our 40th anniversary in the commercial glass supply industry.
But what can you, as a customer, expect when you deal with a company that’s become known as the North East’s leading supplier of architectural glass?
Well, as our recent award from home design website Houzz testifies, Peterlee Glass is known for being among the best when it comes to customer service. We were named as a Best of Houzz 2017 winner, thanks to factors including the number and quality of client reviews we received in 2016.
Founded in 1977 by North East businessman David Hawes, Peterlee Glass quickly became known for supplying superior glass products at competitive prices, with a reputation for being reliable, trustworthy and passionate about quality.
Over the years, we’ve increased our expertise and our capabilities, with the addition of a design studio in 1993 and a major investment in 2000 seeing the installation of a glass toughening plant.
Our hard work has been rewarded with some major contracts from the likes of the Metro Centre, the British Museum, Sage Gateshead and countless more household names across the UK and beyond.
Further investment came in 2015, when PLG was acquired by Brownhills Investments. The business, now headed up by David’s son Graeme, continues to go from strength to strength.
Having never lost the original vision and passion instilled in it by its founder, Peterlee Glass is now known as the North East’s leading commercial glass supplier.
Peterlee Glass has a whole host of accreditations and endorsements. Primarily, as members of the Glass and Glazing Federation, customers know that Peterlee Glass has had to undergo a strict vetting process and is continually audited for both our installation practices and the quality of our glass products.
Members of the GGF are required to work to the highest technical specifications in compliance with building regulations, and customers buying from GGF-registered companies are protected by a range of consumer safeguards. You can find out more about the benefits of choosing a GGF member company here.
